on the Mokau

We had an amazing stay at Mackford Farm in October during the 2024 whitebait season.

Hayley, Richard, and their lovely kids made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The house was spotless and ideal for handling fishing and whitebait. We were lucky to be there during a bit of a run!

Richard and Hayley shared some great local tips that helped us make the most of our whitebaiting sessions. We even had a few beers with Richard by the outdoor fire, swapping fishing and hunting stories under the stars. It was peaceful, relaxing, and just what we needed.

Thanks Richard and Hayley. We’ll definitely be back this season, this time with our surfcasting and fly-fishing gear!

Thank you for a magical stay, so peaceful and relaxing. The cottage was beautifully clean and so well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. What a lovely peaceful paradise you’ve created for others to enjoy.  We will most definitely recommend to others and we will be bringing back friends to stay another time.

I stayed at Mackford Farm during the 2024 season and my friend and I had an amazing time. Hayley, Richard and their lovely children made us very welcome from the first minute.  The house was spotless and well equipped for the sorting and storing and eating of whitebait caught just down the bank a bit.  We were lucky and there was a bit of whitebait running during our stay.

There's an open fire outside and bbq. It was awesome sitting outside and talking up our catches. Next time we visit the surfcasting gear will come too.
